Paecilomyces lilacinus is a fungal species commonly used as a biocontrol agent in agriculture for its potential as a natural fungicide, particularly against plant-parasitic nematodes. it is a very successful bio nematicide with broad spectrum action against various nematodes like root-knot nematodes, cyst nematodes, reniform nematodes, citrus nematodes and stunt nematode. It is also effective on white grubs and other soil borne pathogens.
