Aswad eggplant Seeds
Aswad eggplant, often grown annually despite being perennial, can be started indoors and transplanted outside once it’s at least six inches tall and temperatures reach 55°F. Turmeric is one of the most historically important plants in the indian subcontinent. Its amazing properties not only made it an important plant for dyeing and natural medicinal uses, but its color, flavor and ability to naturally preserve foods made it a key pillar of indian cuisine. Lakadong turmeric is a true gem among the heirloom turmerics of India. It is considered the turmeric with the highest curcumin levels of any known variety. Curcumin is the component of turmeric that provides its key health benefits and also flavor. Lakadong turmeric is unique in its deep orange color, powerful fragrance and delicious taste.
It is fairly easy to grow, and requires the same conditions as regular turmeric plants. Planting season begins in Late march and continues till June. Planting later can result in very low harvests as the plants naturally stop growing in mid-winter (or earlier as per local temperatures and water availability.) To plant, simply place one rhizome in a 6-12 inch hole and cover it with soil. Adding compost while planting, and then regularly during the growing season, helps improve plant growth and harvest size. planting on raised beds or mounds can be useful in areas prone to waterlogging, and alternatively, sunken beds can help in regions prone to dry spells. Plants in the ginger and turmeric families prefer containers 12 inches in size for adequate root development.
